Beginner’s Mind Sesshin
with Rev. Teijo Munnich & Meredith McIntosh
We welcome both experienced and beginning practitioners. Teaching and meditation practice from the Soto Zen Buddhist tradition by Rev. Teijo Munnich. This sesshin combines traditional Zen practice including several periods of meditation per day, formal meal practice and instruction in principles of Alexander Technique.
Instruction and gentle hands-on work with meditation posture to develop body awareness and ease will be offered by Meredith McIntosh using the Alexander Technique in a supportive environment. Meredith’s teachings are rooted in the common ground between Zen practice and awareness of body-mind and movement in daily activities. It will include exercises, stretching and discussion opportunities.
Meredith McIntosh is a long-time student of Tangen Harada Roshi at Bukkokuji in Japan. She is a certified Alexander Technique teacher and massage therapist. Both her self-study and teaching are tooted in the common ground between Zen practice and awareness of body-mind and movement in daily activities.
