Intro to Zen – March 17, 2012
with Rev. Teijo Munnich
This half day will be a gentle introduction to Soto Zen to help participants get acclimated to sitting posture, etiquette in the Zendo, and the nature of shikantaza (“just sitting”) practice. The aim is for participants to leave this session comfortable enough to walk into a Zendo with others and practice without pretense or mystique – to just begin as they are and know that this is enough. Annually scheduled in spring and fall.
Wear comfortable, clothing that will allow you to move freely; during cooler months, dress in layers. We do not wear shoes inside our building. Warm socks or slippers are appropriate.
Fee:Â $35.00 &Â Dana
You may also reserve a space by phone or email (up to three days before the event please) and bring a check with you.
Schedule:Â 9am – Noon (Please arrive by 8:30am)
