Volunteering at Great Tree

Great Tree is blessed with a wonderful temple and grounds in which to practice. There have been many improvements over the past year that have greatly enhanced it from beautification efforts around the foundation plant beds to pragmatic projects such as heating and insulating the zendo.

We recently reassessed ways in which we can be good stewards of the property. Currently, it would be extremely helpful to have volunteers assist that stewardship in the following ways:

    • cleaning the zendo and common areas
    • helping with office work
    • organizing event registrations
    • data entry
    • doing grocery shopping for Great Tree events
    • cooking for events
    • taking trash to the landfill (less than five miles)
    • taking recyclables to recycling center
    • putting up flyers about Great Tree events around town
    • preparing bulk mailings four times a year

More long-term projects include:

  • clearing out scrub trees
  • putting up pickets around decks of the cabin
  • staining the cabin wall

There are a number of other unique projects that may be suited to a particular skill you would like to share. Therefore please don't hesitate to inquire about other projects that might fulfill your interests better than those listed here.
