The event is over, but you can still help…We have for sale an anthology (chapbook) of work from selected writers and artists for sale to support Chimyo’s continued education. This is a beautiful and inspired collection from among the many who live locally. Printed in a limited edition of 50 only, we have about available to help reach our goal of $3,000. to assist Chimyo.

Randall Daigu Pride, gifted graphic designer of our newsletter, we have only six of some of his digitally enhanced photos, some of which were used as illustrations in the anthology, available. With a donation of $100 more we will send you a gift of one of these inspiring prints, along with a copy of the anthology.

An Evening of Poetry & Prose from the Great Tree Community: May 11, 2012: 7 – 8pm
Location: Urban Dharma, 29 Page Ave, Asheville.
Art works and anthologies will be sold to benefit continuing education for our first resident, Rev. Chimyo Atkinson. Readers will include members of the Great Tree community and guests. Readers to date are: Chimyo Atkinson, Kimberly Childs,Teijo Munnich, Dale Neal, Randal Pride, Christine Hale, Kevin McIlroy, Philip and Judith Toy
Rev. Chimyo Atkinson has been invited to participate in a Head Monk (Shuso) Ceremony in Japan.This will be an opportunity for her to complete part of her priest’s certification process. While in Japan she would like to stay and participate in another 3-month Practice Period (ango), also for credit toward her certification.
The Aichi Senmon Nisodo (Women’s Practice Monastery) has accepted
her for practice beginning in August.
